The first Macedonian feature animated film John Vardar vs. the Galaxy is continuing its successful tour on European and world markets for film co-production.
After the selection at Sofia Meetings in March, and the World Animation Production Day in Stuttgart in April, Lynx Studio's project will be presented at the Visegrad animation forum in Czech Republic in May.
"Sofia Meeting went better than expected. We received offers for co-production of 8 countries, as well as an offer for distribution from a company working with Oscar-nominees and blockbusters. I believe the producers recognized the commercial potential of our project," said Goce Cvetanovski, writer and director of the film.
Marko Ugarkovic, Head of Lynx Studio, believes the team is on the right path to create a unique Macedonian film brand.
"We are presenting the TV series of the childhood of John Vardar and his friendship with the extraterrestrial dog Jester. Also, we are already working on the design of several videogames, and negotiating the manufacture of toys inspired by the feature film," Ugarkovic said.
According to the estimations of producer Allan Gonzalez, the film will take about two years to be completed. The author of the characters' design and background is illustrator Mihajlo Dimitrievski - The Micho, and Benjamin Hotton is the animation director.
