Your visit to Greece is at a key moment, not only for our region but for the whole of Europe, Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said, wishing welcome to the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the presidential palace in Athens.
"Your visit is the culmination of the sincere, timeless friendship and cooperation between nations and our peoples", Pavlopoulos stressed.
As MIA reports from Athens, Putin, for his part, thanked the Greek Government for the invitation and stressed that Greece is a country with which Russia has a deep, long-standing and traditional relations.
According to him, it is time both countries to move towards concrete steps to exploit the opportunities that exist to strengthen bilateral relations.
