The Macedonian pavilion was formally opened Thursday at the 15. Venice Architecture Biennale the most prestigious international event on the architectural calendar.

This year Macedonia is represented at the world exhibition of architecture with the Project 'No Man's Land' of planning studio "Stone Design". It is an installation of four young arhitects: Stojan Pavleski, Ivan Simeonov, Ljupco Tasevski and Gjorgji Radovanovic. Ivanka Apostolova is the commissioner of the project, which corresponds to the exhibition's topic "Reporting from the Front".

The participation in this international event is rather significant for Macedonia, which for the last several years has had numerous impressive presentations that put the country on the global scene of architecture and offered fresh, innovative projects, Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska said at the inauguration of the 'No Man's Land' at the Arsenale a complex urban estate of high historical importance.

She expressed hope that this year project would bring the creative ideas of Macedonian designers to the international public and attract visitors to get familiar with the values of Macedonia's culture and art.

This year Biennale, 28 May27 November, features 63 national participations in the historic Pavilions at the Giardini, the Arsenale and in the historic city centre of Venice.
