Macedonian Deputy PM Ademi Meets Dutch Ambassador Plomp

Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Arber Ademi met Thursday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands in the Republic of Macedonia Willem Wouter Plomp.

During the meeting Ademi informed on his participation at the informal meeting of the General Affairs Council in Amsterdam. Ademi and Plomp also referred to current political developments in the country, especially in the last days, and underlined the importance of taking steps towards fulfilling the obligations arising from political agreement (Przino Agreement) and providing conditions for conducting democratic and credible elections, Deputy Prime Minister’s cabinet said in the press release.

Interlocutors also addressed implementation of obligations arising from urgent reform priorities and agreed that it is necessary in the future to keep the focus of these activities which are crucial for the European perspectives of the country.

They also exchanged opinions on the challenges and activities in dealing with the migrant crisis and discussed recent incidents at Macedonian – Greek border.

Ademi also said that the friendly cooperation between the two countries should not only continue but should also strengthen. He also thanked for the consistent Netherland’s support emphasizing that migrant and refugee crisis shows how it is important all Western Balkan countries to be integrated into the EU as soon as possible.
