SDSM parliamentary group has filed an initiative to the Assembly on Wednesday for initiating a procedure to determine President Gjorge Ivanov's liability.

The chief of state said the previous day he would abolish all politicians and their associates accused or convicted in the cases related to the wiretapped conversations.

"With his general amnesty for the politicians, Gjorge Ivanov has become the protector of criminals, has annulled the Constitution, the laws and the dignity of the citizens which is equal to a state coup. Additionally, he gave the Przino Agreement a shameful blow," said the coordinator of SDSM parliamentary group, Goran Sugarevski.

According to the opposition MP, the initiative was so far signed by 37 lawmakers, whereas in his statement given in front of the Assembly, Sugarevski has called all the parliamentary groups to support the move and 'take a step to return the constitutional order in the Republic of Macedonia'.

"Yesterday VMRO-DPMNE announced it didn't agree with Ivanov's decision, but if so, I call the VMRO-DPMNE MPs to come to the Assembly and sign the initiative. In the opposite case, they will confirm this is an agreement between them and Ivanov," Sugarevski scored.

The SDSM lawmaker also said Ivanov was creating discrimination and is making a division between untouchable politicians whom he wants acquitted from heavy crimes and the rest of the citizens, 'common mortals', who are subjected to penalties for minor violations.

Sugarevski claims that despite the dissolution of the parliament, there are still chances to call a session, but the country needs political will.
