The situation in transit center at the old Athens airport Ellinikon is dramatic - there are already over 6,000 refugees and migrants, despite the drop of migrant influx on the Greek islands after the EU-Turkey agreement on March 20, Ethnos newspaper alarmed Monday.
The newspaper informed that lately the situation in the center is getting out of control and carries serious risks after the number of migrants and refugees situated there has dramatically increased, and the capacity of the center cannot accommodate all.
Ethnos newspaper warned of the new attempt of authorities to transfer refugees and migrants from the port of Piraeus to other transit centers, but migrants, being supported by activists of NGOs refuse to accept their calls for transfer.
