Rectorate of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje on Friday issued a statement in which it expressed concern about the developments on the election of the new student leader.
The statement sent by the now former Rector Velimir Stojkovski, says that on Monday at 8 am they scheduled an extraordinary session of the Rector's Office and they require the Student Parliament for immediate detailed explanation of all the circumstances and events related to the student elections.
"I am deeply concerned by the information published in the media about the developments in the student elections, which were with no dignity, as well as the use of police forces with armored vehicles for academic student elections. Therefore, we appeal to all students, members of SPUKM, members of the Student plenum, members of student initiatives and other forms of student organization for restraint from any action that would further complicate the situation, which could lead to serious consequences in many aspects", Stojkovski says in a statement sent to the public.
Thus, it is emphasized that the University Senate on a constitutive meeting held on June 27 established a committee to amend the Statute of UKIM in the section concerning the student organization.
