New draft laws on payment services and systems for financial instruments and prospectuses for securities and transparency obligations for issuers, as well as package of bylaws transposing ten relevant European Union directives. These are the results of the project "Further harmonization with EU legislation in the area of capital movements and payments and financial services - markets securities and investment services", which was completed on Thursday with a final conference.
The project, which began in February last year, is financed through the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance of the European Union within the component Assistance for Transition and Institution Building. It consists of two components, the first to align national legislation with the EU’s in the area of payments, and the second for the harmonization of legislation on the capital market as a whole, and is of great importance for the central bank, the National Bank of Macedonia said.
During the conference, NBRM informed, panel discussions were held on the topics "Vision 2020 of the Eurosystem - Step forward in small payments" and "European perspective of the capital markets in the region".
