Debate on the proposal for impeachment of President Gjorge Ivanov is set to resume in the Parliament on Thursday.
The proposal is submitted by opposition MPs, also supported by DUI.
Elaborating the proposal, Renata Treneska-Deskovska of SDSM said the reason was lack of any accountability and the arbitrary conduct of the current authorities.
"By revoking the pardons, Ivanov admitted his mistake and the fact that his motives were purely partisan, not serving the state. The impeachment procedure represents a return to the principles of accountability, justice and equality", said Treneska-Deskovska.
Zoran Ilioski, chairman of the parliamentary committee assessing the grounds for the proposal, said the President did not violate the Constitution and the laws.
"The Constitution has not been violated since Article 84 establishes the president's right to give pardons in line with the law", added Ilioski. The impeachment proposal requires a two-third majority.
