
Czech Republic's Army Chief of Staff, General Josef Becvar, paying a two-day visit to Macedonia, held talks Tuesday in Skopje with his host, Lieutenant General Metodija Velickovski, focusing on a possibility for including the Macedonian Army (ARM) in the project of Prague-based Multinational Logistics Coordination Center for smart defense in terms of building, enhancing the logistic capabilities and a joint participation in the military exercise 'Capable Logistician 2019'.
The meeting also tackled the ARM transformation and structure, its participation in UN, NATO and EUled peacekeeping operations, regional security in light of the migrant crisis, as well as enhancement of bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
General Becvar is also scheduled to meet President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Gjorge Ivanov. Tomorrow, the Czech delegation will visit Krivolak army field and Bogorodica watch point at the southern border, meeting with Czech officers deployed in the context of the refugee crisis.
