Starting Monday, cannabis oil will be available for purchase without prescription across pharmacies in Macedonia, the Health Ministry informed.
This oil will be with a less than 0.2 percent THC level, and it will available with two different concentrations of CBD- 5 and 7 percent.
"With this new product on the market, we satisfied the requests of the citizens and the expert community, whose remarks, opinions and suggestions we heard in public debates on this subject, and we implemented them in a legal solution in March of this year. According to international reports, the cannabis oil can help with conditions such as stress, anxiousness, nervousness, depression etc. But it can also be used to fight symptoms of nausea, sickness and it helps in digestive balance and boosting the immune system. These are the reasons why the product is sold without prescription, so it can be available to everyone, the report states.
The Ministry of Health reported that the product will be will be natural and without traces of pesticides and herbicides. It will be made with a low temperature extraction and without the use of organic diluters , which means that it will be a high quality product.
The product cannot replace a standard medical therapy, unless it is prescribed by a doctor.
