Stanusina grapes will be branded and protected as an old and authentic Macedonian grape variety, says Zoran Stanoev- Dejzi, from the Slow Food Tikvesh association.
Stanoev made the announcement after his attendance at the Terra Madre Tirana Slow Food event.
"Through the Slow Food movement, we have already branded and protected the yellow grape brandy native to our region. We are now working to organize vine growers and wineries from the Tikves region who produce Stanusina wines to brand it", said Stanoev.
The large regional Terra Madre event in the Albanian capital brought together authentic food producers from the whole Balkan region.
"We presented our top wines, brandies, grape juice, ajvar pepper spreads, home made sweets and other original products. Our booth at the Slow Food event in Tirana was a top destination for all visitors", said Stanoev, adding that Carlo Petrini, founder of the international Slow Food movement, also visited the Macedonian stand and got to try Macedonian specialties.
