The play titled 'Name', directed by Croatian Nenni Demlester and produced by Comedy Theater from Skopje will mark the official start of the 51st edition of renowned theater festival 'Vojdan Cernodrinski' in Prilep on Friday.
The traditional bestowing of the Lifetime Achievement Award will also take place on Friday evening.
The festival will offer a rich program in the next 8 days. A part from the 12 plays that are part of the official competition, ten other plays will be staged in the off-program. Exhibitions and book promotions will also be held, as well as midnight performances.
This year's winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to theater critic Liljana Mazova and actors Ilijame Biljali of the Albanian Theater and Sabina Ajrula from the Drama Theater in Skopje. In the honor of the laureates, the music piece Carmina Burana will be performed on Friday.
This year, the jury will be comprised of dramatist Vase Mancev, drama artist Vlado Jovanovski and director jani Bojadzi. The festival is supported by the Macedonian Culture Ministry and the Town of Prilep.
