Macedonia's handball team prepares for the upcoming Olympic qualification games in Gdansk in Poland and coach Ivica Obrvan said that he expects the full 20 member team to be assembled by Tuesday.
Dejan Manaskov, Stojance Stoilov, Velko Markoski and Nikola Mitrevski are away due to obligations to their clubs, while Filip Lazarov has an injured finger. The remainder of the team is practicing at the Jane Sandanski sports hall.
"Everybody knows what we are in for. It will be arduous for us to play three matches in three days, but it will be the same for our competitors. Tunisia may be in a slight advantage, playing against Chile in the first leg, while we face the hosts, Poland. But, let's wait until all the games are played. We are in a group where we can prevail and succeed. Hopefully, we will bring joy to everybody in Macedonia, and become the first generation that has secured a place at the Olympics in a collective sport", Obrvan said.
The team leaves for Poland on Thursday.
