Value of Goods Exported from Macedonia Increases by 9.5 Percent

According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of Macedonia in the period January-April 2016 amounted to MKD 82.624,800 i.e. a 9.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The value of imported goods in the same period was MKD 116.097,571 or 4.4 percent more than the same period last year.

The trade deficit in the period January-April 2016 was MKD 33.472,771.

Import coverage by export in the period January-April 2016 was 71.2 percent.

The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, ferro-nickel and clothes.

In regards to the imports, the most significant products are the platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, and electricity.

In the period January-April 2016, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Serbia, Greece and Bulgaria.
