Nine people have been detained and three police officers have been injured at the basketball game between Kumanovo and MZT Skopje, as the home fans started pelting MZT players.
The game was stopped in the third quarter and police moved to clear the Kumanovo sports hall.
"Organizers used the loudspeakers to ask the fans to disperse calmly, but they began burning torches and throwing objects toward the police and the field. The rapid deployment police unit moved to empty the hall", the Interior Ministry informed.
Outside the sports hall, Kumanovo team supporters continued to throw rocks at the hall and also damaged two vehicles.
Police continued acting to disperse the crowd, until the disturbance was ended.
