President Gjorge Ivanov will call for improving regional cooperation in the Balkans and its integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures, at the Brdo-Brioni Process conference in Sarajevo that begins on Saturday.
Ivanov is set to speak later in the day at a business forum of the Summit 100 initiative, where he will raise the need of completing the Balkan countries' Euro-Atlantic integration.
"It is necessary to move from declarations into specific steps to ensure stability in the Balkans. This will include greater cooperation in security matters, infrastructure links, economy, business, energy projects. The trust that is lacking in our region can only be compensated with maximum cooperation", President Ivanov's office says will be his key message at the summit. The Summit 100 is planned as a conference of political and business leaders, who will discuss ways to improve trade in the region. President Ivanov is accompanied by Jerry Naumoff, Government minister in charge of attracting foreign investments, who will hold meetings with business representatives while in Sarajevo.
At the Brdo-Brioni Process conference, regional presidents will discuss cooperation and key challenges.
The conference brings together the Presidents of Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, and, for this meeting, Italy. Macedonia is the next host of the meeting that will be held next year.
