A large number of people have gathered at the Yugoslav History Museum in Belgrade on Wednesday to honor and commemorate the legacy of Josip Broz Tito, the unique marshal in Yugoslav history, and at the same time, celebrate what was once known as the Day of Youth, May 25.

Most of the visitors are elderly persons who lived during the time of his rule, Serbian newspaper Blic reports.

For 36 ongoing years, since the day he died, a considerable number of citizens dressed accordingly in uniforms, holding relay batons and flowers, have not missed the visit to Tito's tomb located at the so-called House of Flowers and paid their respect for the life they had during former Yugoslavia.

"This is the only day that reminds me of the good times, and I wrote a song about it yesterday," said Jelena Pivljanka, who came to the House of Flowers to commemorate Tito's life.
