Residents of the Macedonian capital owe the public water supply company around EUR 38 million, while the trade entities based in the Skopje area owe EUR 15 million.
The information was shared to the public by the company's head, Aleksandar Atanasov, at a press conference held on Tuesday, calling the citizens to pay their bills within the prescribed time frame.
Atanasov added that residents of several Skopje municipalities, including Saraj and Cair, and the capital's surrounding rural areas, are usually late in their payments.
At the Tuesday media conference, the water supply company chief reminded of the new water supply system in the Suto Orizari municipality, which is an investment worth EUR 3 million, whereas the company's share in the investment stands at 33%, or MKD 78 million. These funds will be allocated to the project in near future.
"The construction began last year and so far 45% of the work has been completed," Atanasov pointed.
The press conference was also the occasion to promote the new uniforms for the clerks and the officers working with the public company.
