Bulgarian National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology announced on Wednesday that the levels of rivers in western Bulgaria are expected to significantly increase on Thursday, BTA reports.
In a statement, the Institute states that it is necessary "increased attention" rivers west of the Iskar, the middle and lower reaches of the river, and the upper and middle courses of Jantra and Struma and the upper reaches of Mesta.
This warning is due to the increased volume of rainfall in Bulgaria, which can cause the growth of levels of river waters in the next two days.
