On the occasion of April Fools' Day - 04/01, the traditional event known as 'Skopje Laughs' will take place at the central 'Macedonia' square.
Organized by the Children's Cultural Center 'Karpos' and the City of Skopje, an party for children from kindergartens and primary schools will kick off at 11:00 am. Folk ensembles, the 'Golden Nightingale' Choir and different dance groups will perform. This year's event will be opened by Skopje Mayor Koce Trajanovski.
On Friday evening at 9:00 pm, a night party and a masquerade will take place at the central square with performances of a number of popular Macedonian singers and bends.
The Centar Municipality organizes a festival dubbed 'In the World of Smiles' at the Youth Cultural Center, with attendance of kindergarten children.
The Macedonian Opera and Ballet will also give a special concert comprised of comic arias, overtures of famous operas, duet performances and choir songs. The title of the event is 'Stand up Comedy with Andrej', whereas the director is Cvetan Stojanovski, and the conductor is Andrej Nunov.
The design and innovation center 'Public Room' will present the award for best 'Public Mask 2016' on Friday evening as well. A party will also take place at the center's premises.
Masked students of primary schools will walk at the parade organized by the Skopje City Mall, followed by a party conveyed by DJs working for popular radio stations.
