Macedonia's State Election Commission is making huge preparations for the June 5 elections, Telegraf.mk reads.
The deadlines are pressing and the next time period that needs to be observed expires on Wednesday midnight when the lists of candidates for members of the election boards need to be submitted. For now, the ruling parties - VMRO-DPMNE and DUI - have submitted the names of their members, but only for the diaspora election units. All parties are expected to file their own lists by the end of the day.
The SEC has already passed a decision to establish municipal election commission branches founded on random choice.

The next step the parties need to make is to file candidates' lists for MPs by May 11 the latest, after which it will be definitely made public how many parties will participate in the election campaign that needs to kick off on May 16.
During the session held on Tuesday, the State Election Commission has decided the 130,000 voters that were included in the additional checkups because they owned a passport only, but not a valid ID card, to remain in the voters registry. The technical Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski has sent a letter to each of the SEC members, demanding them to erase these names from the electoral roll, however this proposal was not accepted.

Additionally, the SEC has passed a decision to task the Office for Registers Management and the Interior Ministry to verify how many persons from Albania have registered to hold a residence in Macedonia. Also, the addresses where it is considered that more than 10 people live will be examined.
SDSM members Igor Milev and Violeta Duma are still not taking part in the work of the State Election Commission.
