Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov has extended his greetings to Berta Romano Nikolic, president of the Jewish community in Macedonia, as well as all the members of this community, on the occasion of the great Jewish holiday Pesach.
"One of the greatest Jewish holidays, Pesach contains in itself the message of freedom, justice, and dignity. Looking back through history, the holiday celebrates the liberation of the Jews, but also reflects the urge for freedom, self-sacrifice, and the unyieldingness of the people," wrote President Ivanov in his greeting.
Macedonian history, he added, marks many heroes and victims, of known and unknown heroes who had put the foundations of the sovereignty of the Republic of Macedonia. All of us are building a house of unity and understanding. Nurturing the mutual relations, the culture, and traditions, we are building a home for coexistence and values for future generations, said Macedonian President in his Pesach greeting.
