The State Election Commission (SEC) adopted the Agenda for the election activities necessary to carry out the early parliamentary elections.

By doing so, the Commission has confirmed that elections will be held on June 5. Surprisingly, the Agenda was also signed by Commission president Aleksandar Cicakovski, despite not being present for the voting on whether the Commission is prepared to carry out elections.

According to the Agenda, the electoral roll will be published on April 25, and citizens can check if their names are on that list over the course of 15 days. As of Saturday (April 16), until May 9, Macedonian nationals living abroad can start registering to vote in the seventh electoral unit. The electoral roll will be finalized by May 19.

A total of 1,135 deceased persons will be erased from the electoral roll, according to information so far.

Parties, on the other hand, need to finalize candidate lists by May 11, in order to start the electoral campaign on May 16.

The field checks that have been conducted, have shown that the electoral roll is clear, and it has been updated regularly.

However, SEC has requested the Interior Ministry to check around 100,000 voters who do not show up at any database, but still own valid documents. That check has also shown that those voters are legal voters and cannot be erased from the electoral roll.
