The decision for abolition of the processes against politicians of the ruling and opposition parties remains in effect, and those that do not agree with it can prove their innocence in court by themselves. This is part of President Ivanov's statement of his public speech to the nation. That was his answer to the demands to reassess and revoke his decision.
"I firmly believe that this decision will help in reducing tensions between the political opponents. I have carefully analyzed all reactions over my decision. I remain on the same position. All those who think I have taken from them some right, I have made a bad favor, or wants to prove his/hers innocence in court - should personally deliver a written request. A law expert will be called to give opinion for the request," President Ivanov said.
He informed that the parties and their supporters use institutions for realization of their own goals. Ivanov said that judges are under pressure, institutions are paralyzed, and they cannot answer to the security threats to Macedonia. In terms of the SPO, he said that it needs quality time to carry out the investigations.
Ivanov has addressed the signers of the Przino Agreement to respect the deal and to enable elections to be held. He called on all judges, prosecutors, officials, to take courage and to report any attempt to be pressured.
"The signers must respect the deal, and carry out all tasks, and enable fair and democratic elections. I encourage all judges, prosecutors, police officials, to not fall under pressure. I encourage them to inform me if they have been pressured," Ivanov said.
The President also addressed the international community representatives to be careful with their behavior in the country.
"I address all members of the international community to be careful of their acts, because they may be misunderstood," Ivanov said.
Ivanov also suggested political parties to promote new persons who could enter the political life.
"Political parties need to promote new persons for the political scene. Up until the day of elections, the parties and their supporter should not be abused and influence the electoral process. I am expecting the electoral process to bring a new chapter in Macedonian history," Ivanov concluded.
