President Gjorge Ivanov held a public interview Thursday with the editors of the domestic national televisions. He answered questions related to his decision, which suspended all of the judicial proceedings against the politicians and their associates. The decision caused an outcry in the public and among political parties.
- I am always led by state interest , the state above all - said Ivanov . He specifically pointed out that he stands behind the decision which ended all criminal proceedings against politicians from the government and the opposition.
Ivanov said that the purpose of the decision is a reconciliation between Macedonians and Macedonians and that we cannot allow to get to a position where we are fighting each other, reminding that bullies have always existed and exist in every society.
Ivanov revealed that SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, personally asked to be pardoned, and said that if the opposition leader has that conversation, he should freely publish it. Ivanov also said that there is great support from the citizens, and about the destruction of his office, he reminded that it is not his own, but that it belongs to Macedonia. He added that the hopeless situation in which Macedonia found itself forced him to make a decision that will create a clean slate for the elections.
