
An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 on the Richter scale was registered Tuesday on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu, the meteorological agency of Japan stated.
According to reports, the earthquake took place at about 09:36 pm local time, but a tsunami warning has not been issued yet.
The earthquake struck 10 kilometers away bellow the earth's surface, and its epicenter was in the city of Kumamoto.
For now, there are no reports of casualties or material damages.
