The Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Macedonia, and the Labor Unions of Macedonia showed their support on Wednesday for Macedonian President Gjorgje Ivanov's declaration.
"With Tuesday's declaration the President of the country paved the way out of the crisis, and showed the direction of national binding. We are convinced that his decision will not only mean a beginning but also a quick resolution of the exceptionally difficult conditions with which unfortunately our beloved fatherland is currently facing," said the trade unions in a press release.
According to the trade unions, President Ivanov has made the national decision, which demands great sacrifice, and which is not made for running daily politics, or political rating, but rather a decision which is focused on a prosperous future.
"As a real father of the nation, President Ivanov wisely decided that this country is not property of VMRO-DPMNE, nor SDSM, nor DUI, nor DPA. This country belongs to all citizens, and its future cannot be questioned over minor political interests. Citizens need successful economy, new jobs, and better life standards, not everyday political quarrels that lead nowhere, apart from pleasing some others' interests," the release read.
The Confederation of Free Trade Unions and the Labor Trade Unions of Macedonia called on the citizens to not react impulsively and emotionally in these serious moments, but rather carefully analyze the explanations given by President Ivanov while making his decision.
