The head of Greece's liaison office in Macedonia, Ambassador Theocharis Lalakos, has issued two demarches on Monday, addressed to the Macedonian authorities in relation to the 'unacceptable episodes that happened in Idomeni', the Greek Foreign Ministry says.
"Ambassador Lalakos has clearly said, on the most categorical manner, that the use of violence does not contribute at all to the solution of the refugee problem, and is a direct violation of appropriate regulations on international and humanitarian right," the Greek Foreign Ministry press release reads.
According to the ministry, Lalakos has called on the Macedonian authorities to appropriately respond to the conditions and to demonstrate appropriate responsibility, restraint and seriousness.
