DUI will take part in June 5 general election, the party's leader Ali Ahmeti has confirmed, calling SDSM president Zoran Zanov to reconsider his position in order 'to remain in the process for the good of the country and his party'.

"They shouldn't self-exclude themselves, but need to be part of the process because nor SDSM will benefit, nor its voters," Ahmeti said in an interview for the 'Road to' TV program, produced by Alsat M.

In the following period, Ahemti is certain he will have contacts with facilitators and aids in terms of the Przino Agreement. He believes that the accord needs to be respected, and the abidance to its provisions means that all the parties should be part of the June 5 election process.

Asked whether a possible meeting of the leaders of the four largest parties could take place, Ahmeti pointed he did not believe that such an encounter could be organized and that it is time for the international representatives to make their move.

"Now I believe and it is my estimate that much work needs to be done by our international friends who need to talk and request an explanation from Zoran Zaev why he made such a statement, which according to me, is a bit rushed. All opposition parties are exerting constant pressures over the ruling parties to organize early election and this case doesn't surprise me. He should be the only voice demanding early election, in order to solve the crisis and put things in the right direction in terms of finding a final solution," Ahmeti said.

The DUI leader also believes that the only way to put things on the right track is holding the polls on June 5, and that, he underlined, has no other alternative.
