Enough is enough. This two-year crisis must end, and it can only happen with the elections in which citizens will choose who will give their confidence to, to lead the country. Conditions for elections are met. The time of conflict must end and the interests of the country to be put in the forefront before the party interests.
This was stated by the Chairman of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski, at Thursday’s press conference that was dedicated on the latest developments in the country after the dissolution of Parliament. He also referred to the statements of the leader of the opposition party SDSM who announced that they will not participate in the elections on June 5th.
"Enough is enough. This crisis must end. Behind her there are no commitments for freedom of the press, nor any democracy and fight against corruption. Behind this crisis is the helplessness, fear, frustration, an attempt to undermine the identity and attempted forcible change of power in Macedonia by the opposition, which is lost in their lack of ideas and does not deal with politics, programs, ideas, solutions for real problems of the citizens, but mostly with espionage, with blackmail, with destruction. And it is all planned and it must stop" Nikola Gruevski said.
He stressed that only through elections and surrender to the will of the people can end the crisis, and it is, he assessed, possible even in such a situation.
According to him, people know how to distinguish who loves the country. He stressed that the time of conflict must end because, as he said, it is not about Gruevski or Zaev, but for every single citizen.
He noted that the reason why SDSM does not want election is very clear and simple, and it is, he said, because all the surveys and analysis, domestic and international, and the international community also knows it, the VMRO-DPMNE has a convincing lead before SDSM with almost a dual advantage. The question is, he said, why due to several people all the state to be a hostage.
Regarding the criticism of the opposition that there are no conditions for holding free elections, Gruevski said that Macedonia cannot wait and there is no time for sophistry.
"The country is divided on all possible grounds and it must be stopped, and it would stop starting with some personal examples and messages that we had enough of the division, of anger and frustration. Enough with the crises. Our responsibility is to solve the crisis, not to create them. To solve problems, not to be part of them as someone wants to make us part", Nikola Gruevski said.
Elections must be held and will be, and we will offer the best program ever with many new projects, reforms, measures and solid guarantees for many jobs, Nikola Gruevski said.
