Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated for media Thursday that Turkey will not respect EU deal for returning illegal migrants if EU fails to keep its promises. According to the deal, Ankara is supposed to admit back migrants who illegally entered into Greece through the Aegean Sea and for every returned migrant EU will admit one Syrian refugee from the Turkish camps.
Additionally, Brussels will have to secure financial aid for migrant accommodation in Turkey, visa liberalization for Turkish citizens and it will have to speed up the EU membership process for Turkey.
