For the time being, it is certain that 1,129 voters will be erased from the electoral roll, Telegraf.mk reads.
This was stated at the SEC's public session taking place now, which is seeing the presentation of the report on the voters' data revision. President Aleksandar Cicakovski brought out a pile of numbers, which cannot be understood by many.
Those 1,129 individuals will certainly be deleted from the voters registry because they are deceased. the SEC unofficially says that a large portion of the job is being hindered by the Interior Ministry. Off the records, the Interior Ministry has verified only 40% of the 70,000 people who are being checked through the authority's databases.
At the Wednesday public session, the State Election Commission is presenting the results of the checkups of the electoral roll conducted thus far. At the same time, the state institution has been carrying out a field probes of around 90,000 dubious voters, while 120,000 voters were subjected to administrative methods of verification. According to the presented information, besides the deceased persons, a large number of cases involving people who have moved out, or live at different addresses, as well as people having same last names and similar dates of birth, have also been recorded.
The presentation of the report on the field inquiries is to follow, which were performed during the March 28-April 5 period.
