Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that Russian forces have helped remove over 1,500 mines in the Syrian city of Palmyra, Channel News Asia reports.
Palmyra was occupied by Islamic State militants and retaken by government forces in March.
