According to reports quoting a police source, certain French beaches will be monitored by armed patrols as the country tightens security for the summer holiday season, Euronews informs.
Riot police officers are to be equipped with special holsters carrying weapons, following several terrorist attacks.
But overall numbers will be down on last year because of other security commitments.
