The traditional multimedia spectacle "See music, hear picture, get book" organized by the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Youth Cultural Center took place in Skopje City Park on Thursday.

The show was dedicated to the British legend David Bowie. The Orchestra under the baton of Emin Dzijan gave a stunning performance of Bowie's greatest hits.

At least 20,000 free samples of the book "Psychedelic Suburbia: David Bowie and the Beckenham Arts Lab" from author Mary Finnigan were given to visitors.

It is the untold story—during the Summer of Love (1969)—when 22-year-old David Bowie shacked up with Mary Finnigan, a 29-year-old hippie mom with two young children who had left her uptight husband for Swinging Londontown.

Millions of words have been written about Bowie's life, but his early days as a struggling songwriter and performer have been shrouded in hearsay. Here is the full story of his pivotal year in Beckenham, written by his friend, lover and landlady, one of the first people to encourage and support him.
