‘Macedonian Village’ ethno complex located in the village of Nerezi near St. Panteleimon monastery opened late Wednesday. Ethno complex has 12,000 square meters and reflects the traditional Macedonian architecture.
It includes authentic houses from different parts of Macedonia with accommodation capacity of a hundred guests, hotel, restaurants, etc. In the next twenty years ‘Macedonian Village’ will be managed by Tinex owner Vladimir Todorovic.
Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Pesevski said ‘Macedonian Village’ is part of large mosaic that the government is building in the past 10 year aimed at creating successful tourist story. ‘Macedonian Village’ provides foreign guests to see all of Macedonia in one place, its history, traditions, architecture, and culture and enjoy the gastronomy and the Macedonian wine.
Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska said that this is an extremely important project aimed at promotion and affirmation of the rich Macedonian cultural treasure because, despite the holiday on the slopes of Vodno, ‘Macedonian Village’ is museum exhibition of objects, costumes, memorabilia, presentation of traditional crafts and customs.
Cvetanka Hristovska, Tinex brand manager, said that their vision is ‘Macedonian Village’ to provide top service, pleasant stay and unforgettable experience with unique contents that will promote Macedonian culture.
Lela Krstevska. Director of the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism said they would support the work of ‘Macedonian village’ by providing promotional brochures and presenting it at tourism fairs.
Last year nearly half a million foreign tourists visited Macedonia but unfortunately had no opportunity to see this magnificent complex which will mean expanding the Macedonian tourism offer, Krstevska said.
