The number of detained illegal migrants in Bulgaria in January-May 2016 was 1,858, BTA reports.
This is nearly half as many as the figure for the like period in 2015 when a total of 3,535 persons were caught, the Interior Ministry said.
Four attempts to cross over illegally of a total of 50 trespassers were averted in the past 24 hours.
