VMRO-DPMNE demanded the opposition leader Zoran Zaev to immediately resign as mayor of Strumica. Only then the Mayor Zaev will have the decency to demand anything from Bitola Mayor Vladimir Taleski, the MP of VMRO DPMNE, Zoran Ilioski said on Saturday at a press conference in Bitola.
According to Ilioski, the resignation of Zoran Zaev will maybe persuade citizens to believe that SDSM advocates for a legal state that respects the law and democratic principles.
"Zoran Zaev is hypocritically blaming the others for a crime, while without the blink of an eye he ignores the fact that he is the only mayor who was detained in pre-trial confinement in Skopje accused of a crime worth EUR 8 million. Decent Social Democrats are seeking answers why SDSM shamelessly allowed to be held hostage by the abolished criminal in the Republic of Macedonia Zoran Zaev, who is aware of his guilt and abusing the party and the country, just to save himself from a criminal responsibility for his own crimes which are confirmed by irrefutable facts, arguments and evidence", Ilioski noted.
Ilioski added that Vladimir Taleski is one of the most successful mayors in the country and therefore, he said, according to the SDSM’s scenario he should be publicly discredited in a political instructed procedure by the Special Public Prosecution's Office.
"Residents of Bitola who support Taleski wholeheartedly since 2005 in three election cycles know this. This support is acquired with programs and projects that are voted solely on elections and can not be impeded by a few malicious comments on social networks, let alone with protests of two dozen people who block streets. Even Zoran Zaev is aware that the attempt of political persecution of Vladimir Taleski is without foundation, is not supported by any sound argument and has no lawful or legal justification. Zoran Zaev also is even more aware that one day he will have to face the people's court, and be defeated in elections and prosecuted for each crime with which he damaged the people and his own country", Ilioski said.
