Macedonia's Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki took part in a panel discussion on the topic 'Does Europe need a new approach to migration?' which was held in London and organized by the Royal Institute of International Affairs-Chatham House.
At the event, Europe's current issues and challenges in relation to the migrant crisis were discussed in terms of the governments' engagements and the engagements of the relevant parties involved in dealing with the crisis. The focus of the discussion was on the possible solutions and on a possible new approach in the management of the humanitarian and security aspects of the migrant crisis", the Interior Ministry reports.
Minister Poposki pointed out that despite all challenges, Macedonia managed to succesfully deal with the migrant crisis.
"Macedonia has had an active contribution towards EU's joint efforts for reducing the illegal migrant surge. We acted in accordance with the agreed EU standard and as a country candidate we demonstrated our capacity as a responsible partner", Poposki said.
