Macedonia's Council for Advancement and Oversight of the Audit has extended its international cooperation with another EU member state.
The president of the Macedonian authority, Sonja Gjelova-Stojanova and her counterpart of the Croatian Audit Oversight Committee, Zeljko Faber, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Zagreb.
The cooperation is to be realized through the development of joint projects by the usage of the EU's Twinning and TAIEX programs, in terms of strengthening the public audit oversight system in the two countries.
The employees in these agencies in Croatia and Macedonia will share experiences, knowledge and skills in this direction, the two bodies said in a press release.
The head of the Croatian committee was positively surprised by the accomplishments of the Macedonian Council for Advancement and Oversight of the Audit made thus far, given the relatively short time period since its establishment, the press release added.
Faber has highlighted the Croatia's support, as an EU member state, for the Macedonian authority's membership in international organizations, such as IFIAR and EGAOB.
