Landing of an 'Air Serbia' plane at the Ohrid Airport on Wednesday formally launched the seasonal Belgrade-Ohrid flight.
The route to Ohrid, a popular Macedonian city overlooking the 34-km-long Lake Ohrid, will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, serviced by an ATR turboprop aircraft with 66 seats. Michael Youlten, General Manager Services Air Serbia, expressed belief that Ohrid would be an attractive holiday destination for Serbian and European tourists in general.
"Tourism is fundamental for the development of our carrier and I believe the same refers to Ohrid and Macedonia. We aspire to become the leading airline in the region and Ohrid means a new chapter to that effect. Macedonia is a significant market for Air Serbia and we shall keep seeking ways to improve our offer," Youlten said.
Zoran Krstevski, TAV Macedonia General Manager, expressed satisfaction with the reintroduction of this flight after a twoyear break.
