Earlier on Tuesday morning protesting migrants have removed their blocks on the main highway leading from Skopje to Solun (Thessaloniki). The highway was closed on and off during the past two days, as the migrants protested the decision to have them returned to Turkey, under the recent agreement signed in Brussels.
The blockades were placed near the Gevgelija border crossing, two kilometers deep into Greek territory, with commuters being forced to use alternative, village roads, and trucks largely forced to wait in place. The migrants requested that the Macedonian border is re-opened for their passage toward Germany and other EU countries.
