Twenty-three-year-old Nikola Kuzmanovski from Skopje is facing a 19-year prison sentence for the murder of healthcare worker Dejana Zdravkovska.
Sources say that prior to the incident, an argument had broken out between the indicted and the victim. Zdravkovska has suffered a head injury, however she was unable to defend herself.
After struggling for a while, Kuzmanovski strangled the young woman. He was aware that she was pregnant, sources say.
According to witnesses, the perpetrator was involved in a secret romantic relationship with the victim.
Following the incident, Kuzmanovski tried to commit suicide, but was halted by police officers.
