In Gaziantep's region close to the Turkish-Syrian border, Turkish police arrested two men, members of Islamic State, who were planning to carry out a suicide attack. According to Turkish media, the men are on the 'most wanted' list of the Turkish Interior Ministry.
Authorities think that the men were planning a suicide attack in Gaziantep or some other settlement in the area. Another two men were arrested along with the suspects. Gaziantep is located near the Turkish border with Syria.
This year alone, 4 suicide attacks were carried out in Turkey. The last one was on March 19, when a suicide bomber blew himself up in downtown Istanbul, killing 3 Israeli tourists, one Iranian, and injured 10 other people. Turkish authorities have identified the suicide bomber as an IS member from Gaziantep.
