Microsoft Macedonia, TDK computers and the several Macedonian Government institutions announced the beginning of their conceptual pilot project that aims to examine the use of Microsoft tools, platforms and products specially produced to suit the needs of the Macedonian education system.

The project will introduce tablets and other technical and software equipment to the elementary school "Petar Zdravkovski - Penko" in Skopje and the medical high school "Nikola Stejn" in Tetovo.

"Our common goal in this project is to show that use of techology during education will ease teaching, improve knowledge transfer and help students acquire modern digital skills. Our long term goal is that schools are transformed in more organized and creative environments. The range of these tools that are being introduced into our classrooms will also allow us to realize our vision to transform and modernize the education system", said Education Minister Pistar Lutfiu.

Deputy Minister of Information Technology and Public Administration, Timco Mucunski, said the project is based on a memorandum of understanding signed in 2015, and the introduction of the Microsoft Showcase Classroom will be realized as a joint effort and in partnership between the Macedonian Government and the international giant.

"Microsoft is donating 60 powerful tablets through the local TDK Computers company which are able to launch the  Microsoft Showcase Classroom and we will organize a series of events, training and showcasing that will demonstrate how Microsoft platforms and technologies enable 21st century teaching and education," said Ljupco Georgiev, Microsoft Macedonia general manager.
