Macedonia's President Gjorge Ivanov met on Tuesday with Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, the United Nations High Representative in the Alliance of Civilizations, who is paying a visit to Macedonia.
"The Republic of Macedonia has an exceptionally active role in the Alliance of Civilizations where we, naturally, have much to offer. During these serious global challenges, the Alliance needs to intensify its actions and to focus on prevention", President Ivanov said during the meeting with the high ranking Qatari diplomat.
According to the press release from President Ivanov's office, the two discussed improvement of dialogue and cooperation between states and non-state actors, at a time when the world is in need of such a noble mission.
High Representative Al-Nasser welcomed Macedonia's contribution to the Alliance's efforts.
"Your ideas and contributions are highly valued in the Alliance and you are recognized as a truthful friend and supporter of this UN global initiative which, while still young, is bearing results", Al- Nasser said during the meeting.
