Hungary does not want to accept the asylum seekers for whom, under the Dublin Agreement, it should be in charge of, the spokesman of the Hungarian government, Zoltan Kovacs said Tuesday.
"No. Hungary will not accept anyone," Kovacs told reporters in Vienna.
The statement is likely to spoil Austria's plans to return the cases treated under the Dublin Agreement to the neighboring countries.
The position of the government in Budapest was defended by Kovacs by noting Austria's and Germany's conduct during last year's summer and fall.
He said that Austria then transferred the migrants from its territory into Hungary by convoys, while Germany, which said it will accept all refugees, has sent a message to the migrants.
Kovacs stressed that Hungary does not deem it should be in charge for the refugees who have entered into EU's territory through Austria.
