Five and a half years in prison for the accused Imer Niksic (35) and probation for his brother Abdulkajam Niksic (37) is the decision of the Basic Court Skopje 1 for the shooting in the digestive Clinic in the doctor Ljubomir Ognenovic.

Court judgment was passed after the defendants admitted the guilt. According to the court, Abdulkajam will not spend 2 years in prison, if in the next 5 years he does not commit another crime. At the request of the defense, Imer will be transferred from the investigative prison in Sutka to Idrizovo. Imer and Abdulkajam who have not been convicted, said they feel guilty and in the courtroom they apologized for the incident.

The doctor Ognenovic requested damages, but he did not specify the amount. Representative of the digestive clinic told the court that the hospital requires the damage from the broken windows and inventory which amounts to MKD 23,770 to be reimbursed. People employed in the clinic were also in the courtroom. Some of them asked for damages, and some said they did not ask for anything, because no money can compensate the stress suffered by that day.

The shooting occurred on November 9 last year at the Clinic for digestive surgery in Skopje Clinical Center. The reason for the attack was the discontent of the two brothers of the treatment at the hospital where during the night their mother died. The attackers fired on the doctor Ognenovic and one nurse. Three of the bullets Imer fired, ended in the leg of the doctor, but fortunately he did not lose a lot of blood and was saved with prompt intervention of the colleagues.

Attackers fired towards the nurse who was nearby and, fortunately, none of the fired bullets end up in her body or in the limbs.
