Minister of Health Nikola Todorov took part Friday in a work meeting of health ministers of Central and Eastern European countries held in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
The meeting, focused on growing challenges in pharmaceutical policies, saw the adoption of the so called Sofia Declaration on securing an adequate access to pharmaceutical products with sustainable and affordable prices, the Health Ministry said in a press release.
The declaration, it said, lays the foundation for an accelerated cooperation in relation to pharmacy. These countries constitute a market of 100 million inhabitants. The process is expected to be completed next year.
On the sidelines of the event, Minister Todorov held talks with his Croatian and Slovak counterparts to discuss ways for improving the countries’ cooperation. He is expected to meet his Bulgarian counterpart and host, Petar Stefanov Moskov later in the day, stated the press release.
